Created in 1964 as the Lowthian College, The Art Institutes International Minnesota is conveniently located in downtown Minneapolis, MN. It is a 62,500 square feet facility that provides the highest quality post secondary education in the area. It is a member of the Art Institutes family: a network of 32 schools located in major cities throughout the U.S that has been providing higher education for individuals interested in design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts for more than 35 years.

The Art Institutes International Minnesota’s spectrum of careers covers some of fastest growing professions in the market: advertising (BS degree), art of cooking (certificate), baking & pastry (Certificate and AOS degrees), culinary arts (AOS degree), culinary management (BS degree), design management (BS degree), graphic design (BS and AOS degrees), interactive media design (BS and AOS degrees), interior design (BS and AOS degrees), interior planning with AutoCAD (AOS degree), media arts & animation (BS degree), photography (BFA degree) and visual effects & motion graphics (BS degree). Program duration goes from 21 months for an AOS degree to 36 months for a BS/BFA degree.

The career services offered by The Art Institutes International Minnesota have allowed the continued success of its graduates: 88.6% of the 2004 graduates were working in a job related to their career within six months of graduation. Prospective students wishing to attend The Art Institutes International Minnesota must submit an online application and enrollment agreement, write a 150-word essay, have high school diplomas or GED certificates, and will be tested as to their mastery of English and math. Applications can be submitted online. The Art Institutes International Minnesota sponsors a housing program (a $150 Rent and Restoration payment is necessary for students who apply for this program online), as well as offering military benefits, scholarships and a financial aid program that includes gift aid, loans (federal and/or state) and work.
