Featuring an 80,000 square feet facility located in downtown Portland, Oregon, the Art Institute of Portland is a provider of undergraduate design education, with both liberal and professional education programs. The Art Institute of Portland is a member of a 32 Art Institutes network located in major cities throughout the U.S that have been providing higher education for individuals interested in design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts for more than 35 years. The Art Institute of Portland is accredited by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and is currently in the process of accreditation self study to be submitted in 2006.

The Art Institute of Portland offers the following programs: design management, industrial design, interactive media design, and visual & game programming (all these programs award a BS degree); advertising, apparel design, digital media production, game art & design, graphic design, interior design, media arts & animation, and visual effects & motion graphics (all these programs award a BFA degree); apparel accessory design, apparel design, graphic design, interactive media design and interior design (all these programs award an AOS degree). Program duration ranges from 7 (AOS) to 12 (BS/BFA) months. The Art Institute of Portland offers career services such as employer's page (for potential employers to search for candidates), internships, etc. 

The Art Institute of Portland allows candidates to apply online. Along with their application, an essay and an enrollment agreement must also be submitted with a $50 application fee. Finally, a $100 tuition deposit is necessary within 10 days of submitting the agreement. While portfolios and SAT/ACT are a plus, they are not a must. High School Diploma or GED must also be produced. The Art Institute of Portland has financial aid and scholarship programs to assist qualifying students.
