Pennsylvania Culinary Institute (PCI)

Pennsylvania Culinary Institute was founded in 1986 with one purpose: to be the cooking school chosen by those interested in starting a career in culinary arts. At the beginning, Pennsylvania Culinary Institute was just a Branch Campus of The Sawyer School. In 1990, Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts, Inc. acquired Pennsylvania Culinary Institute due to its recognition and tradition preparing successful professionals. As a result of this, PCI earned its own campus and the accreditation by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. In 2001, Career Education Corporation (CEC) acquired PCI and closed the International Culinary institute, bringing all that experience and expertise to PCI. Moreover, in 2004, PCI formed a partnership with Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, Cooking School.

Thanks to these associations, Pennsylvania Culinary Institute now offers the following programs: Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts, Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality and Restaurant Management, and Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie & Baking. Their faculty is composed of highly skilled and prepared professionals who bring all that knowledge and expertise to the classroom. Their programs combined traditional classes with hands-on training in the labs. Another of the advantages of studying at Pennsylvania Culinary Institute is the location since this institute is located in one of the best places to live: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Do not hesitate and be one of those professionals who have been successfully trained to perform in the culinary and/or hospitality industries.

The first step to be admitted at Pennsylvania Culinary Institute is a personal interview in which the admissions representative will determine if your expectations match the institute’s requirements. Then, you can begin the admission process filling out the application. Do not worry about money. Pennsylvania Culinary Institute offers federal and state financial aid for those students who qualify. Join this winning team and choose a career in the industry which employs more than 12 million people and will open 1 million new jobs in the following years.
