The Art Institute of Philadelphia
Located in downtown Philadelphia, PA, the Art Institute of Philadelphia was created in 1971 to provide another choice of post secondary education for students of the area. The Art Institute of Philadelphia joined the Art Institutes family in 1979, becoming one of 32 Art Institutes located in major cities throughout the U.S, one of the largest post secondary career oriented education for the creative arts.
Nowadays, the school features an 80,000 square feet campus where it prepares over 3,700 students for careers in the visual, practical and culinary arts. The Art Institute of Philadelphia is authorized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education, accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and by the Accrediting Commission of the American Culinary Federation (ACF).
The Art Institute of Philadelphia’s range of careers includes baking & pastry (Diploma), culinary arts (AOS and Diploma degrees), digital media production (BS degree), fashion design (AOS and BS degrees), fashion marketing (AOS and BS degrees), graphic design (AOS and BS degrees), industrial design technology (BS degree), interactive media design (AOS and BS degrees), interior design (AOS and BS degrees), media arts & animation (BS degree), photography (AOS and BS degrees), video production (AOS degree), visual effects & motion graphics (BS degree), visual merchandising (AOS degree), and general education.
The career services department offers a variety of services to its students and graduates, including job search assistance, assistance with resume writing, interviewing and networking skills, etc. All applicants for the Art Institute of Philadelphia must submit a signed/online application for admission, a signed/online enrollment agreement and a $50 application fee. Additionally, candidates must present a written essay of 150 words, high school transcript or GED scores. However, admission for certain courses does not require degree/diploma. The institute has a financial program for qualifying students that includes gift aid, federal pell grants, scholarships, loans and work.
