Heald College-Roseville: Education & Success…Hand in Hand!
The year is 1863. Mr. Edward Payson Heald makes an endeavor into the market of education by opening the first school in San Francisco, California. In his mind, he was aiming for allowing students to have the option of a school that focused on two important approaches: being practical and favoring an active method for students to work with.
The year is 1986. The campus at Roseville, California opens. The greater Sacramento area has become a corporate possibility for many employers and employees. Because of this, curriculum at Heald College has increased significantly; and the necessity to keep educating students as top professionals for their very own personal reasons.
Roseville’s Heald College offers the possibility of being successful by attending the student body’s needs through: Access to bookstore on campus Learning Resource Center with library and computer lab; Classrooms designed for the students to take advantage of them; Dress for Success policy (select days) to encourage workplace professionalism; Free email and Internet access at the school; 450 computers, 14 servers and 23 printers on campus; Round tables to stimulate communication and for teamwork purposes.
Heald College amounts to a 50,000 square foot facility along the Interstate 80 corridor, in the center of Roseville/Rocklin. The easy access to highways and public transportation is another convenience, as well as the free and spacious parking space!
Once that a student has decided that these advantages are what he/she needs, the programs made available to him or her are:
Business Area: Accounting Business Administration Criminal Justice
Technology: Cisco Systems Microsoft Windows 2003 Network Security
Healthcare: Medical Assisting Medical Office Administration
For all those concerned graduates (what about getting a job after they finish their studies) Heald College offers quite a relief! The following is a list of employers that have hired Heald graduates:
Apple Computer, Inc. AT&T Bank of America Blue Shield of California Comcast EarthLink Intel Corporation Kaiser Permanente SBC Communications Sprint Verizon Wireless Wells Fargo
…and that is just to name a few, so students can feel quite reassured!
Another concern students have is how serious and professional is their school. Fortunately Heald College is backed up by more than 140 years of experience in the instruction of students. Furthermore, the school is accredited by the Western Association of School and Colleges (WASC). Make no mistake: this must be earned!! That is why Heald College has a respected history and respect makes it education worthwhile.
Besides educating a group of people that have trusted them with their future, the staff at Heald College is committed in helping out these people (the student body). This is done by letting students know the many ways in which they can advance in their future careers. The career services team knows the importance of the transition from school to the job, therefore preparing a student for this can be done by way of: Career Fairs and On-Campus Interviews; Guidance Counseling and Support; Federal Work Study; Job Placement; Assistance for Graduates; Job Placement Assistance for Life; Internships and Externships.
Money, money, money!!! That’s something a graduate wants to see (and count) once that he is working…but before that there is no reason why a student should worry about it. That is why at Heald College there is the option of financial aid to ease a student’s worries about money. There are public, private and government plans accessible to alumni:
Federal Pell Grants Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) State Cal Grants Heald Merit Scholarships Federal Work Study Federal Stafford Student Loans (subsidized and unsubsidized) Federal PLUS Loans Private Lender Alternative Loans: 1. Citibank 2. EFSI 3. Salliemae
So meeting with a financial aid advisor can clear any doubts a student may have about the scholarships, grants, loans and/or work-study programs at Heald College. The career planning session with the advisors will also help in identifying interests or outlining the already chosen programs for a student. The process of admittance is a walk in the park!
1. Interview with an admissions advisor 2. Indicate that you have a high school diploma or GED equivalent 3. Complete an application ($40 application fee for students who live in the U.S., $250 for international students) 4. Complete an entrance placement assessment 5. Have an admissions advisor recommend you to the campus director
Heald College Roseville is where students go to make friends; they have found a real sense of familiarity.
