Green Collar Vocational Schools
Vo-Tech schools have introduced educational schools built around the “green economy”.
Students at several Massachusetts’ vocational schools are being taught hands on with solar labs and wind turbines to educate each individual in recent energy efficient equipment. With the rise in green collar jobs these schools will provide students who are interested in this trade to get a head start and add reliable skills to there belt.
Vocational schools are a major part of Massachusetts’ work plans to go green. The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MCEC) put up $150,000 to help various schools educate trainers and develop course curriculums.
The teachers will then be able to proficiently teach the green subjects as well as standard skills in trade curriculum. Students will then be able to face the green workforce going directly into clean energy businesses, like building and installing solar panels, or building retrofit companies.
