The typical courses of this major are: real estate-residential, real estate principles and practices, real estate law, real state investments, real estate finance, real estate-commercial, real estate appraisal and international real estate.
Building and property maintenance and management majors learn how to maintain residential, industrial, and commercial buildings. The classes cover topics such as the maintenance and repair of electrical and plumbing systems and refrigerators, among others. As a building and property maintenance and management major you will use computers, learn to put up drywall and paint, repair machinery and heating and air-conditioning systems, read blueprints, understand basic construction types, learn about building materials and learn about building codes.
Carpentry majors learn how to use hand and power tools to construct, install or repair fixtures and wooden structures. Any carpentry major will memorize building codes, learn how to estimate job costs, build skills in framing, finishing, and other techniques, practice using hands and power tools safely and read blueprints.
